How to promote your website for free

Small and home-based businesses have one thing in common. They need to promote themselves in order to get found by their customers. The problem that arises is the cost associated with promotion. Many small & home-based businesses especially those that are just starting out have very little to no money to play with. When I first started Media Integration I had only $20 bucks in my pocket and no other source of income, so I had to figure out ways to promote this business for free.

In this article I will be showing my #1 strategy that I still use to advertise and promote Media Integration for free and make money.

Please keep in mind, what I am about to share with you is not a magical solution. You will not start making money over night. Well, the chances of making a millions over night using just this strategy are very slim. Nothing in this world is “Free”. In order to make money using what I am about to share with you, you will need to invest your time and effort and continuously maintain and diversify your efforts. This is only one tactic I use to make money online, besides this there are several other strategies I use and will be sharing all of them with my awesome readers in future posts.

So, let’s get to it:

The most effective way to promote your business for free is by starting a blog. A blog will help your business in many ways. If you write blog articles/posts such as the one you are reading right now you will build creditability and trust with your readers.

How does it work?
Easy! Create and provide highly relevant information around topics your readers/customers are interested in and/or are already searching for. The more content you create and the more relevant it is for your audience the will quicker your business will become the go-to source for information. Think about it this way, in the offline world a business succeeds by having repeat business. Your online business a.k.a your website/blog will succeed with repeat visitors. If these visitors start to share your content with their networks/friends you will in turn will receive more traffic. In other words you will be working on word-of-mouth advertising using this strategy.

Another benefit to blogging is the love you will receive from search engines. The more relevant content you produce on your website the more Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines will love your site. Search engines are in business to index and provide up-to-date and relevant information for its end-users or in other words you’re prospects or customers.

Now, I must mention that keywords analyze and SEO play a huge role in your search ranking but for the sake of this article I am assuming you are brand new to the concept of blogging and have yet to start one. Or you have a blog but you do not maintain it/update the blog with new content on a regular basis. The point of this article is to get you started with blogging.

Just start writing, don’t worry about SEO, back linking, keyword research, or promotion at this point of the game. Just start writing.

What should you write about?
Think about your business, customers, products, competition, heck even the people that you work with. Start asking your-self why do people by from me? Why does this business exists? What needs am I filling ? What drives a person to buy from me? Who is my customer? What do they like? How old are they? Etc… The point is to find out as much information about what interests your audience, and then create tons of content to fill that need.

For example if I were to blog/target a person who is looking for health products let’s say a supplement for losing weight. I would create articles around weight lose, weight training, health foods, diets, exercising routines, supplements, interview trainers, join a gym and talk with people there etc… basically I would find out information around the industry and why people spend time and money in that industry. I would then create blog articles, e-books, video’s etc, around the industry of “Health”. The information that I supply would be like a net for the target. They would find my content and eventually buy from me.

There are many other forms of free online promotions that you can do yourself on the wonderful internet. I will be sharing more topics on how I have promoted Media Integration for Free and how I make money using free promotions on later posts but for now this should be enough to get you going.
